Do you charge for installation?

Yes, there is a flat-fee for all installs.

  • $125.00 – $200.00 for tents
  • $40.00 for awnings
  • starting at $60.00 for racks

Is my tent waterproof?

The tent body is manufactured with a ripstop fabric that is treated with a water resistant ventilate coating. It is also mold and UV resistant. In rainy conditions please make sure you have the rainfly installed. Under prolonged exposure to rain, water may seep through the tent body material. Always dry out your tent/awning when being stored to reduce the chance of mold. Mold damage is not covered under the warranty.

How much weight can my roof rack hold?

Weight limits vary by make and model of vehicle and which rack is in use. Please contact CVT for more info and rack options.

What can I do to minimize Condensation?

Condensation is the creation of moisture caused by body heat and cold outside temperatures.  You cannot prevent condensation completely but there are a few ways to minimize it.

  1. Ventilation is key, keep your vents open and allow as much air flow through the tent as conditions allow.
  2. Anti-condensation mats, Using an anti-condensation mat will lift the mattress off the floor of the tent and provide air flow.
  3. Try not to bring wet items into the sleeping area of tent.

 What are my shipping options?

All flat shipping rates are shown to the lower 48 states. Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are not included in the lower 48 states. Please call for a quote to these locations. Should you require shipping to a different location contact us with your requests, we have the ability to ship worldwide.

What is the warranty?

Cascadia Vehicle Tents provides a 24-month manufacturer’s warranty on defects in material and manufacturing from the original date of purchase on tents and awnings. This warranty is non-transferable. The warranty does not extend to normal wear and tear, scratches, dents, accidents, acts of nature, misuse, abuse, tampering, cosmetic blemishes or damage caused by improper use, improper cleaning or improper storage. CVT will repair or replace defective items at our option. CVT may also elect to not repair or replace a defective item, in which case, CVT will issue a refund equal to the original purchase price (less shipping & handling) or a credit towards a similar replacement. If a tent must be returned to our repair facility for inspection and/or repair/replacement, owner must assume the cost and liability of return freight. Shipping damage is the responsibility between tent owner and the freight company. See Return Policy FAQ for more info or contact CVT.

What are the fabrics used on your tents?

Ripstop fabrics are woven fabrics often made out of nylon, using a special reinforcing technique that makes them resistant to tearing and ripping. During weaving, thick reinforcement threads are interwoven at regular intervals in a crosshatch pattern. The intervals are typically 5 to 8 millimeters (0.2 to 0.3 in). Thin & lightweight ripstop fabrics have a 3-dimensional structure due to the thicker threads being interwoven in thinner cloth but more modern weaving techniques make the ripstop threads less obvious.

Ripstop fabric, sometimes called a sports fabric, is a woven, lightweight, nylon-threaded material that resists tearing and ripping. Ripstop fabric can be water resistant and is commonly used for camping equipment such as tents and the outer shells of sleeping bags. It is also used to make hang glider and para-sail wings, parachutes, hot air balloons, sails, kites, flags, banners and sports clothes. The tough beating ripstop fabric makes it ideal for any application that requires material that won’t fail under stress.

How do I take care of my Roof Top Tent?

When you first get your CVT Roof Top Tent we recommend that you lightly spray the tent with water including the fly. This will allow the thread and the fabric to swell up and seal holes in your tent from the sewing needle.

When the fabric is sewn together the thread that is used is also poly-cotton and expandable because it has the ability to absorb liquid, when it does, it increases and fills the holes created by the sewing needle.

Can I cook or put a candle in my tent?

NO! WARNING! DO NOT OPERATE ANYTHING THAT BURNS FUEL IN A TENT: i.e. STOVE, CANDLE, GAS LANTERN OR A PROPANE HEAT BUDDY.

Combustion consumes oxygen and can produce dangerous levels of carbon monoxide, which could lead to serious injury or death. Although most tent materials are treated with a fire retardant they will burn if left in contact with a continuous ignition source and so will you. Also your Tent will sweat like crazy! Yes that means condensation! Please be careful and always think before you act.

What should I do when I meet the shipper to get my tent?

  3. If there is a hole or damage to the tent please refuse it.
  4. If you do not refuse it you can keep it, sign the shipping form as damaged so YOU can later claim your damages.
