Mt. Denali Extended Stargazer Summit

(2 customer reviews)

The Mt. Denali Summit Extended Vestibule is a 4+ person tent. The Extended Vestibule lets you exit the tent into your annex room. The overhang gives you an extra 3 feet inside your annex room.

This Summit Line version has an upgraded floor made with diamond plate honeycomb aluminum. The Fabric is a 380g compared to 280g on our standard Pioneer Series Tent. Straps on the cover are a cinch buckle versus Velcro on the Pioneer Series. The mattress comes with a waterproof mattress cover instead of cotton. The interior poles are material wrapped and the center pole has built in LED Lighting with on/off and dimmer switch as well as 2 USB ports. The Mt. Denali has two Telescoping ladders, the ladders have a release on the face of the steps and bumper stops between each step.  All the plastic fittings have been upgraded to alloy (on hinges), D-rings are larger and Velcro is thicker. The rain fly is heavier with quick release buckles. This Summit Line tent also includes two shoe/storage bags, two Spreader Poles to help keep your overhang taut, Annex, removable 6″ annex extension, and a removable PVC floor.  *The Mt. Denali Roof Top Tent requires three cross bars for mounting.

Just installed last night. This review is about install and initial tent opinions. (NOTE: I’m the absolute least handy person you will ever meet and I was able to install this tent using only the you tube video of bobby on the internet – so basically anybody can do this install). So congrats to CVT for making a “dummy proof install tent”. For me: total install time (unboxing to kids playing with it in driveway 4-hours). (i’m sure if I was to do again I could cut than into half that if not less than that) I’ll try to breakdown the install: upon receiving tent as it’s shipped it’s ridiculously heavy (as I knew when ordering it). if you have it delivered to your home, and you plan on prepping to install alone, wherever the delivery company puts it is where you’ll be working (plan ahead for this solo installers). however, once you unbox, then stand on it’s end, remove the annex room, annex room floor, hardware, and other “ingredients” the tent is very manageable for one person (not easy, but manageable). tip: once on end open the tent wide like a book opened all the way as to make it more stable. installing the two mounting rails to the tent floor is simple and straight forward (I did this step while on previously mentioned open book stance). Next up the ladders (2 with this model). I attached the four mounting brackets with ease while still in open book stance (I even tightened all the way down in this position). I chose to lay the tent down flat to attach ladders to mounting brackets (once again easy as can be). next up, get all your neighbors and throw it up on the truck (it took us four people). Securing tent to Thule exporter racks couldn’t have been more straight forward and simple. now: onto the tent. I couldn’t open it alone by pulling one ladder. wife helped me with the other ladder and was easy (i’m sure i’ll figure this out solo in time). in regards to first timers with the ladders, you’ll know when they are extended out to far as they just aren’t that stable and have some flex to them. I played around for about a minute and found the correct angle to make them very secure. The only thing I had trouble with and didn’t quite understand was the u-shape bar and installing to hold out the “extension” on my model tent. After calling CVT it’s super easy. REMOVE the plugs from the ends of the bar (i’m sure most will do this without having to call but I didn’t). The tent is HUGE. For some reason it feels larger than I expected. my wife and I were in the tent and my 3 year old actually could run little laps. we even have enough room to put a pack n play up for my younger son and still have room for the 3 year old to play. This tent feels durable, I have the summit series, and the material feels thick and durable to the touch. The zippers feel like you can really tug on them too. My first initial opinions are above and beyond what I was hoping for. And I expected a lot!. I can’t wait to actually get our first trip prepped for and “move in” for a few days. I can’t imagine anybody wanting or expecting more from their RTT. I’m a very picky person and it truly fulfilled and surpassed anything I had expected to receive. Lastly, on the cover. once you install the cover in the channel on your hinge side, Don’t try to install the cover without unzipping and removing the portion you will insert in the channels for the remaining three sides. I spent forever pulling and tugging until my wife said “hey, what’s this zipper for”. I’m sure this is incredibly common stuff for most folks, but like I said, i’m not handy! I hope this helps give some initial input to anybody conserving this set up. take care all

Amazing RTT. Quality of the product and customer service are top notch. It is very apparent once you engage directly with this product how well made it is… attention to detail make the overland camping experience a pleasurable one.

We chose to pick-up our CVT trailer and tent in Bend. Robert, Ian, JP and the team were so accommodating from minding the details to knowing the ends and outs of set-up and packing up. They will ensure the functionality fits your needs and they will be there for you.

The size of the bed in the Denali is huge, venalation, skylight makes this an exception. We went this big for the Extended Annex space below and we were rewarded with a huge enclosed screened ground space when tucking the ladders underneath. The fabric is extremely dense, we weathered severe thunderstorms and wind the first two nights and were perfectly comfortable. Setting up this tent in the dark the first night driving home from Bend wasn’t as difficult as backing the trailer into the campsite. After two consecutive campsights the whole experience becomes effortless. We love our new CVT Denali Extended Summit RTT
